Moss attracts birds
This is an issue because birds tear off the moss which then falls down the roof into your gutters, clogging them. Birds also chip away at pointing if there's moss growing on it. This wears the pointing down and can lead to cracks which allow moisture to penetrate your building
It's not all bad these birdies give you an indication that your gutters are in need of a clean.
So if this sounds like a problem, you're having to get in touch with your local handyman or window cleaner. Remove moss before it causes blocked drainpipes and possible damage to your property .
The good rule of thumb is to have them cleaned out once a year, usually in January, when all the leaves have fallen. And have your gutters in the correct running order ready for the year ahead. Also, you could ask who is doing the job for them to check that there's no damage to tiles or even missing tiles. Also, to see if any guttering needs replacing.
